The Filipinas Magazine Community Blog features news, information, community events, and People to Watch that may have been or may not have been published in the print and digital publications of Filipinas Magazine. Press release submissions to the Filipinas Magazine editors are summarized here, too.

We don’t make promises that your submissions will be published :-) . We have the right to choose what submissions to publish online, including commentaries. We assume that the press releases and announcements that have been emailed to us have been fact-checked, double-checked, and edited — and that you are (or represent) the authorized persons for these submissions being considered for publication in the Filipinas Magazine Community Blog. The announcements and press releases here do not necessarily reflect the opinions and beliefs of Filipinas Magazine’s staff.

COMMENTARY POLICY: The comments posted on this blog are moderated. Filipinas Magazine Community Blog’s moderators reserve the right to remove comments, words or phrases that are defamatory, abusive, incite hatred and advertise an email address or commercial services or just plain “spammy.” We also reserve the right to remove posts that, to our opinion, are off-topic, irrelevant, ad hominem, personal attacks and or just plain rude. (February 23, 2010) [Thank you to Noemi Dado, Philippine-based blogger, for her guidance.]

Now that we have all these guidelines in writing — and a privacy policy coming up next — here are a few more notes:

People to Watch is a section that will alert the Filipinas Magazine Community to accomplishments of rising stars and seasoned experts in their respective vocations or fields of interest. People to watch… who knows, you could be next!

For Photo Submissions:
Please do not embed your photos within the body of an email or MS Word document. You can submit the photos as a .jpg file with the appropriate headings and photo credits (yes, we would like to know who took the photos).

For Video Submissions:
Youtube videos (for public consumption) are great supplements to a story. If you have a video with an embed code, kindly email the embed code and URL (link) with your submission. When time permits, we look for additional material online to enhance your contribution. Piracy or plagiarism is a NO-NO! So, let’s be sure copyright problems don’t come into the picture.

We look forward to hearing from you. Email Gemma Nemenzo, Managing Editor, at G.Nemenzo@FilipinasMag.com.
